The General Ports Administration has published bidding terms for a 20-year private concession to modernize and deepen the vital Paraná-Paraguay Waterway, which handles 80 percent of Argentina's agricultural and industrial exports. The winning bidder will be required to invest hundreds of millions of dollars to deepen the channel to 36 feet, reducing freight costs for exporters in the interior.
